Welcome

I’m Ms. Bridget Smith.  I teach neurodivergent students on the Outschool online learning platform.  My goal is to support kids and teens with ADHD  and other neurodiverse  learners in the areas of executive function, reading, writing, and note taking.  I work to create a class community where every neuro unique learner can feel comfortable sharing their ideas, perspectives  and experiences.

Executive Function Ongoing Support and Fundamentals

My ongoing classes create a community of learners who share ideas and support each other.  Each session stands alone, but I love watching students share when they successfully used a strategy that they have learned in class.  I have enjoyed having students for multiple years and watching them grow and start new learning experiences..

Note Taking Camps and Classes

Does your learner have trouble with working memory?  Do they have difficulty understanding what to put in their notes? My classes are designed to give your neuro unique learner strategies to record their ideas with pictures, abbreviations and more that make note taking easier and more meaningful.  We always practice using an engaging topic often reflecting topics in science, technology, history, and the arts.

Multi-Day Camps

If your family can’t fit an ongoing class into your learner’s schedule, try a multi-day camp.  These camps give learners a chance to learn strategies and practice skills in a focused way.  Learners build community as they share ideas over multiple sessions.  Many of my executive function camps include games or activities that reinforce what is learned in class. I even offer camps that support the transition to middle school, high school, and beyond.

Self- Paced Classes

Does your learner prefer to be more independent and self paced?  Is it challenging to find time for an in person class in your busy schedule?  Flex classes have weekly lessons and activities as well as lots of interaction between teachers and learners when desired. To support your neuro unique learner, responses to class questions can be typed in classroom comments or by recording a video in our online classroom.

Testimonials

“The teacher was well-prepared and efficient while still being very personable.  She had me fill out a parent survey ahead of class which helped her to know something about my student and his needs.  In a short time, the teacher taught some valuable note taking techniques and also left us with a couple of valuable organizational and motivational apps.  I hope to register my son for more classes with this teacher.  Highly recommend!

Indivdualized Note Taking & Study Skills for ADHD and Neurodivergent Learners”

“My daughter has attended this class for many weeks and enjoys it.  ADHD and executive function support is hard to get where we live so having this online option has been great!  My daughter likes being in a group with other teens that she can relate to and the challenges she’s having are experienced by others too. The teacher provides a safe and relaxed session where kids feel comfortable.”
